Cal and Sarah Johnson married five  years ago in Wisconsin’s Northwoods.  We rode the pontoon to our outdoor wedding site on Presque Isle Lake and prayed for good weather as, staying true to our optimistic nature, we didn’t have an alternative plan should the weather not cooperate.  Thankfully, we ended up with a gorgeous June day and five years later, we find ourselves happy but busy – running three businesses and raising two darling children, Cooper and Greta.

Cal grew up in the area, spending much of his youth entertaining visitors at the family resort on Oxbow Lake; or years later, doing dishes at the family’s Skyview restaurant.  Yet all the while, he was able to fit in many of his favorite activities – in particular, hunting and fishing.  In reverse fashion, young Cal took his dad out hunting and fishing.  The first time Cal took his dad hunting, he got a deer… and his dad didn’t know what to do.  What started as hunting out the backdoor and fishing for bluegill off the dock has now grown into a more precise hobby and sport – fishing for musky, our water’s top predator.  Needless to say, Cal is happy to talk musky at anytime… need a little advice, just call… interested in getting a handle on the basics, contact Cal for a guide date (715-482-6235).  Time on the water is always invited!

Sarah grew up in Illinois, vacationing throughout the Northwoods area beginning in the summer of ‘83.  It was at this time that Sarah’s dad decided to take up a new hobby in fishing.  So every summer from ’83 on, the clan packed up the station wagon and headed north with one goal in mind – to catch fish.  In the spirit of adventure and ignorance, Dad first tried to teach his family of five how and where to fish.  Soon realizing this was not an easy task, the decision was made to hire guides, to try out new lakes and new resorts, to fish in all elements and at all hours, and to read bedtime fishing stories.   Needless to say, Sarah and her brothers and their mom all made it through their father’s obsession and they still love to fish! Sarah also enjoys birding where, much like her husband, she particularly enjoys the top predators – the hawks, owls, Osprey & Eagle.  She, too, is happy to talk birds at anytime…
